Went right past us. Few sprinkles off the edge. Could have had a few more loads through the sprayer. Went to put grass seeder on to try and get some clover into moisture. Waste of time.

Any rain yet?

Managed a welcome 6mm today.

Only 2mm
Been for a run about this afternoon checking potato fields, very isolated heavy showers in parts, further inland seems to be wetter wind from the east now not helping.

At least some of the rented potato land has had a bit of rain this afternoon.

Breezy, plus cloud cover and cool. But no rain.
Winter wheat on hanslope clay now in defence mode, with 4 green leaves rolling to a greater or lesser extent.
Still last year leaf 2 was a luxury the wheat couldn't afford and was assimilated already by this stage of the season, so that is progress i guess.

Yet again 10 mm forcasted, 1mm fell dry around edges , think that was last chance saloon! Not sure how they can get your hopes up and be so wrong.

A fair bit of final part of spring barley growth comes from awns so hopefully be okay. I've a fair few shredded flag leafs and I'm comforting myself with that fact anyway!
It will be interesting to see what comes now, just gutted as I was so pressed with it so far!
Neighbours field next door is only just at flag leaf and in the same state.

It's amazing the difference in the weather when the jet stream moves a bit!

Gone are the nice warm calm days. Now cold, constantly windy and dull.

When is jet stream moving back up out of the way again?

It's getting very dry here, my linseed is wilting today, warm dry wind.
Just beginning to flower, could defo do with some precipitation to keep it going.
