Now i havent grown spring oats for a few years but used to grow quite a lot.
We were on a milling oats contract so high hecolitre weight was a must to secure the premuim . The advice at the time was to combine drill 3 to 4 cwt of 10 10 20 compound with the seed and apply the remainder of the N as soon as the tramlines were visible . Even where soil indices for p and k were high the drilled compound was readily available to the fast devloping spring crop and seemed to make a big difference to yield and quality .

We have been growing spring oats for seed for years.
never go above 100 kg/ha with seed.
plenty of draft on combine.
clean well at harvest too.
no point filling the store with crap.

we do need some rain mind.

The perk of not being on a contract is that come December when it gets cold and oats are in short supply, the "min 50kg" suddenly becomes 47kg, which then turns to "we will take anything".

2018 cleaning and faffing was entirely for nothing as the mills were taking any old crap by January.

Chemicalwise, bit of strob on the flag leaf helps.
