Spring Wholecrop Mix Seed

Hi I am looking for a price on Spring cereal/legume mix suitable for wholecrop or crimping. Don't really have a preference on mix or cereal type, but will require 30-40 acres worth. Thanks

Just want to be first in the queue as I get the feeling there will be a lot planted next year somehow. Are they normally this late releasing prices?

All my suppliers tend to release price lists from mid-January onwards although we had Lupin whole crop mixture prices over a month ago!

I'll have a ring around and ask if anyone will quote.

.maybe stiffer straw and a bit thinner on the ground
Or maybe was all that could uld be got and worked ok

I was wondering if it may be a bit thinner if grass is to be under sown

We have used oats, peas, and barley. Just going oats and barley this year as the peas never seem to grow much.

Why does the wheat work better than barley?

Yes we find it does , Stronger straw keeps the peas standing better, has been drill 50 -50 with seed rate for 65 to 100KG per care

Does the wheat mature early enough I would have thought it would be a few weeks later

I’ve been thinking of trying spring oats and spring beans for wholecrop has anyone else grown them and what seed rates of each would you use

we find the peas die off a good but but still stand up & are dryer to cut than when in a spring barley crop, the spring wheat yields very well & if sown at a lower seed rate with the peas it can work very well with a grass reseed
