Hi Guys,

I'm Tom from Clarion Cars, the owner of the above advert!

This is indeed the price for the new model EX base spec. We've now sold out all the pre-orders for the November boat, so the next orders will be fulfilled in Feb next year.

SsangYong Korea was always in a difficult position when Mahindra (it's parent company) stopped paying the bills of all it's loss leading assets when the pandemic started, not just SsangYong. Naturally the Korean government were livid and removed control from Mahindra by forcing the company in Autonomous restructuring. This allowed the company to be sold to more careful investor, which has now been finalised. We are now owned by the Edison Motor Consortium, and the recovery is well underway with 3 new models released in this year alone!

Manuals are 3200kg and the autos are 3500kg towing, this is due to a heavier duty rear axle and diff assembly.

We don't have any of the old ones left, so just the new ladder grill Q215 (internal code) on sale now!

Any questions please ask

Anyone looking to buy may also be interested to know that residual values of all the 4th generation SsangYongs are incredibly high, even before the slightly bonkers used car market that we find ourselves in currently.

Expect to retain around 65% of the value after 4 years 50k miles!

Take that VW!
Top job lad. That clears up any potential rumours about them bein on thier knees

We've also got up to 10% off most models for the Farming community , so the pricing is as below

Saracen £31999
Rebel £29499
LWB Rhino £33595

As a note, we sell a fair few to large companies that register them for fleets, so they are advertised less delivery (£480) and first reg fee and road tax (£330), so for regular on road use please add £810. Also White is the only non metallic colour, so if you wish for another colour you'll need to add £690.

Are there many common faults with the current models (all vehicles have them) and are they easy to fix/under warranty?
Not really anything to worry about,

When this generation Musso came out in it's first incarnation (summer 2018) we had rattling side steps, wheels not balanced correctly and a bad batch of Panasonic key batteries as the only real things we had to fix, also it's worth noting that Foxes were quite partial to the ABS sensors (in the south east at least)

The later models fitted with Adblue did have some management lights popping up here and there, but again this issue has now been sorted with software updates.

These issues have been ironed out on this latest facelift.

Thus far I don't think we've had a new Musso back for anything but servicing or fitting accessories.

We have sold plenty of these to heavy users, off and on road. I have a Fishery customer that spends all his time mudplugging whilst towing vast tanks of water and ice, that truck has done 70k thus far with no issues whatsoever. Other customers of note are a groundworks and heavy plant hire company who showed me images of the vehicle towing 4000kg of heavy plant (on road) without issue, this chap was so happy with the results he bought a Rexton for his wife and Tivoli as a yard runaround!

SsangYong are genuinely really good on warranty jobs, for example we had a customer that had a mild crease in the leather of his passenger seat which they changed the entire electric seat to the tune of £1300 under warranty. Having worked with many other Franchises, this level of generosity just doesn't normally happen.

Parts are generally easily got hold of and have weathered the 'supply chain issues' quite well, however if it's something unusual we sometimes have to back order from Korea and that can take 2 months or so, but this is the worst case scenario. We (Clarion Cars) have got a supply channel direct to the factory that swerves SsangYong UK, usually this means that we avoid these big delays, but not always!

Worth noting that although the wading depth is officially 350mm from SYUK, other territories outside the UK advertise 800mm as the max.....

What I won't know won't hurt me....

I can’t speak for the new Musso but I have run 3 of the old 2.9 TD’s and have never had major problems.
Over the last 5 years apart from oil & filter changes, my now 20 year old current Musso has had no more than a set of rear pads, a rear caliper piston, a pair of handbrake cables and a battery. I also fitted a set of exchange reconditioned injectors a couple of years ago as she was starting to nail a bit.
They can be a bit quirky and SY did seem to have a policy of assembling cars from whatever was in the parts bin that day eg no two wiring looms have the same colour code.
Having said that they have great towing capacity and the bodies are galvanised so ‘tin worm’ isn’t a problem. Plenty of parts availability on the internet and a really good and very helpful owners club.
