Ssangyong musso

Hi all, has anybody got one of these
On paper they appear to be really good, but are they!!!
They claim 3.5t tow with a 1ton load in the pickup area and still be within it's MAM.

They have all the bells and whistles on inside also.

I'm asking this as I've just received a couple of brochures, which I'm quite impressed with on paper!

What are they like to live with though,
I'm currently running a amarok which I can't really fault tbh, I know the ssangyong isn't comparable really but I am genuinely considering booking a test drive.

Any thoughts...?

Here few pictures from the brochures

That’s a nice looking truck the entertainment system looks practically the same as my new transit custom. Let us know how it goes if you test drive her (y)
I'll book a test drive no probs but it's the hassle from the sales office I don't want
How do I politely say it's sh×T (If it is)!!!

how much cheaper are they? is it worth taking the risk if its a pup the second hand value will be rubbish, plus its never a good thing to trade down you will always be disappointed how old is your amarock ?

I think they are 21k ish
My vw is a 2015 it's excellent at towing and I mean it never moves when loaded

I know exactly what you mean I guess they'll depreciate fast you'll be lucky to get out on the right side to trade up again.

You'd almost need a weeks demo to see what Its like to live with...
3.5t on it's arse down to Devon and back to Cumbria will be a test vw does it effortlessly

Well worth a look at. Just because it doesn’t have the “correct badge” for some people doesn’t mean it’s not worth looking at.

I honestly don’t think there is a polite way I had to get rather tough on an iveco salesman a few months back I literally pulled away from dealership and he was ringing me! that went on for several days until I lost any patience I had with him. Funnily enough a mate had the same guy he turned up At the farm to demonstrate but wouldn’t release price until he had driven it and then held him up waffling rubbish for 3 hours on the driveway mate only got rid of him as he started to padlock up the yard :banghead: if you go and don’t want it just find a few awkward questions to ask they seem to get the point (y)

It would be like getting out of Amanda Holden's bed and getting into Anne Widdecombe's.
You jest. They may not have the street cred’ of the VW but I bet they aren’t that bad. My sister in law has a Korando and that’s a fair thing for the money. The new updated Rexton looks the part too!

You are right, I'm sure old Widdy would be alright with the lights off.

@Cowabunga spoke highly of them on another thread recently

To be clear, I have no personal experience of them, but there are a few around this way now. I just think that the smaller size, luxury, warranty and value for money makes a compelling package. I've watched a few reviews on them and nobody has a significantly bad word to say about them.
The latest Musso pickup is basically a pickup version of the latest Korando and it has heated and cooled seats, Carplay and Auto in the infotainment, powerful and refined engine and so on. What's not to like? Residual values depends on their sales success and growth and reputation over the next year or two. I bet it won't be too shabby.

There's a few round here now, haven't heard any horror stories. Not driven one of the new ones but they do look like they've improved a lot.
I believe you can almost buy 2 well spec'd Rhino's for one top range Amarok.
Whenever I change a vehicle I always look at VW because everyone raves about them. I cant for the life of me see why, they seem very bland and carry a price premium over other makes, what's the attraction?

Is it just a badge thing?
