We normally do something but everyone is pregnant this year which has worked out well. Contractor has booked a table at the rugby club but it’s my weekend to work so we shall see. Last years cost me £300 to feed and drink what felt like half the county. ( we take our the contractors too) Imo it goes a long way to a little bit of a Thankyou for all the help.
Hell fire, I had no change from double that for our little team last year! #topteam #worthit

I used to go to the Perkins CME Christmas bash many years back . ( Company defunct now I think )
It was OK because the boss took his long time secretary out to a long lunch , whist we "workers" went to another separate one . Worked well that , because nobody was constrained by the boss's presence . Also got the opportunity to have a Christmas tamper with the secretaries , with no hard feelings the following day , and no come backs . They also had a "works dance " but that was fraught with many pitfalls -
I remember one such dance where one foreman didn't want to go , and gave his tickets to a relative - a certain recipe for disaster . This relative got absolutely plastered on the free booze , sick all over the dance floor , picked an argument with the boss , started a fight , with absolute mayhem , bursted noses, torn shirts , dress suits ruined , plod involved , and a court case afterwards. Certainly not to be recommended .

I was given this on Friday. Would you rather have this than go to Christmas party. A box of beef.

What decade was this, you got to tamper with the secretaries, with no hard feelings on Monday!?

We have an annual Christmas meal out with the whole team and spouses where practical. Its the only time we have all the partners and staff together as we are scattered across the country. Usually have some development meetings during the day so we can get all the work discussion out the way beforehand though this year it seems we are skipping the meetings and going on a brewery tour instead :ROFLMAO: Guess work discussions will have to wait until the following morning...
