Is anyone else seeing an increase in frayed tempers in these hard times? We've just had an incident here today of some "high impact work violence" or whatever like, has anyone had similar situations recently?

A lot of bad language and frayed tempers here today when I discovered all this string wrapped around the muck spreader rotors . Bloody lazy farmer cant be arsed to remove the string when bedding down, I will not go there again and he will get a big bill. Violence is still an option.

Go on - give us a clue what you are talking about then, as that is so vague it can draw up far too many ideas as to just how far we are talking of the escalation event?

I personally prefer it if people let rip, throw a hammer (at the floor) what ever to release the tension, rather than a long term slightly awkward not knowing feeling bubbling up into something much larger

everyone is different, but I do like to let the pressure relieve valve go with some bad language:censored:

Ooh Kramer!

I've known contractors that drop a hired muckspreader off in the yard for the customer to clean off when it's bad like that.

No excuse.

Well we had one young lad who is a bit on the quiet side, but gets on with their work and does it right. One of the other chaps who likes throwing his weight around decided to pick a fight with the lad over something that wasn't his fault, throttled and cobbwacked the lad...management was informed and the chap was sent off. Young chap has a red neck so it's likely to go one way mayat....

Technically that is a civil matter re the assault if the lad wants to take it further, the company can only dismiss for gross misconduct.

It happens quite a lot these days, but the employee who was assaulted could bring a claim against the business if this behaviour is known and accepted and allowed previous incidents to go.

But all the above doesn't concur with the overall feeling of calm and contentment which I feel has emanated from Downing Street since the election to every corner of the UK.
Isn't it great that at long last, we have a stable and strong Government and have regained our self respect?
