Anyone any idea on price for standing grass? Had fertilizer. Got someone interested but no idea on price.

Ask £50 if they are interested. You might have spent £25 an acre on fertiliser. They have then effectively rented your field for 3 months for another £25 which seems OK to me. Reasonable crop will still be made at around £10 per bale. Then you can buy it back at £25 a bale for some horses

And what sort of grass

Carmarthen. One was reseeded 5 years ago, one 8 years ago. Been grazed up to this year. The fields are in 3 sections. Road access.

It will have an affect on the quality. But your question of what type of grass is perhaps better from that POV.
However I was also thinking how can anyone afford to sell fertilized grass for £20/acre?

You can't sell grass for that. we worked it out as costing £31 per acre for fertilizer.

You could sell it at so much a big bale. It will cost around £30 per acre to make if weather is good and £3 each bale. So ask £5 or 6 per bale and you might get 50 to 90 pounds depending on crop. Buyer will still be getting a bale for no more than £12.

We have a few suplus ha and that is exactly what we do. €7/bale 6ft round. Too cheap probably but it helps a neighbour out and saves me wondering what else to do with it

Fertilized?

Maybe not fertilised but a contractor friend won’t pay more than 20-25 per acre as there is so much standing grass just before hay time he can snap up lots of smaller parcels for free.

You want 40-50 quid an acre I would say.
