I think the way straws coming out the back of the combine they may be very disappointed
And the straw could be very expensive per bale

I wouldn't disagree with that.

Thing is if that is the case across the board generally and not just early crops then the delivered in price will climb much higher sooner or later so pro rata the standing price wont look any more higher than it already does.

These prices are unsustainable thou for livestock producers.

I think the stock will go before straw at £150plus a ton is paid with the shortage of food why bother at these prices

I thought that £150 an acre was mad enough for wb straw but £200 plus is insane good 10-11tha wheat crops here usually get around 4 quads an acre so that is going to come in at £50- £ 60 for straw plus baling and hauling home say another £ 10 a bale for just down the road say = about £ 60 - £ 80 a bale . with quads at 3 to the ton :£ 240 a ton . This year some ww crops you will be lucky to get a ton of wheat straw . Realality will sink in one day that it has cost a lot more to buy locally than have it sent down from the east .
Be cheaper to buy standing maize and let it go real dead and chop it for use as bedding . Madness
