I think we only get a very small amount of gas from Russia, getting it by the boatload from the Middle East now with the new trade deals.
some of these new trade deals are quite good then.
you hear doom and gloom for UK ag, with these deals, but there's nothing we can do, except moan, and that is ignored. Transport costs will render imported product, dearer, transport from NZ to UK x3. And the emerging economies of the east, are a damn site nearer than us. And after today, absolutely anything could happen, right down to a general european full scale war.
And then, of course, it will be 'good old British farmers', my comment about that, is simply unprintable.

Looking on gridwatch gas has been curtailed to minimum levels for a while now with coal being utilised whereas in previous years the coal would have been turned off. Gas is not the problem its the lack of storage capacity which we now struggle with. Easily sorted if government pulled its fingers out as we have plenty of redundant gas fields which could be utilised for storage. Also plenty of coal which can be turned into gas and a lot of other useful products.

Plenty of gas still in the North Sea, but who would commit to investing when Nicola wants to stop oil and gas and get independence.
It is not her decision, just her current stance to get the Greens to prop her and her band of intellectuals up and create further division in Scotland, plus independence or planning for it may not be the best allocation of Government resource if war in Europe drags on or spreads.
