think you guys in the east are wetter than the west?

we drilled Monday, rained tuesday/ wednesday- sprayed thursday/ friday and have started drilling again Saturday, conditions are good

hope to get finished by mid to end of this week now
Yeh it’s wet here, it’s actually just pee'd it down. We are 75% sown up so I’m relaxed. Not a great deal drilled around here.

Just got going nicely into good condition to get rained off tonight. Still 50ac in today with a 3m mzuri in 5 fields wasn't bad going. Just 3 more good days and it will be all in apart from the bit of spring linseed unless I go beans instead.

Done the last 10% - easy.

As to patching up the 90% done three weeks ago - not so easy.

Some's hopelessly waterlogged, some's being hammered by slugs, some went in a bit deep to get some moisture, too deep in retrospect, and some all three.

Extra seed's arrived, but it's so very difficult to decide where patching will do more harm than good.

As usual, it seems all entirely dependant upon subsequent weather, so no change there.

Back up and running today, heavy rain over night then drizzle most of the morning but the ground has taken it really well. Down to the last 45ac of winter barley now then can crack on with some more wheat. Forecast isn’t looking to good after Friday though 🤦🏻‍♂️

Finished drilling yesterday and managed to roll some of the better stuff last night. Sprayed of some ground for a neighbor this morning before spending the day jumping from rolling to pre em spraying. Just about all done but gave up on the last field as I couldn't decide in the dark weather to roll or not, and as it's gone midnight and by some houses I don't think I'll be to popular. As long as we don't see much rain in the morning I'll get that field sorted then drill 20ac for a neighbor then that should be it for the year.

Just taking the wheelings out with the PH so not over working it at 10kph.
It’s coming up lovely though, drilled some cover on it back in July and it’s working up nice. Was a bit worried it would hold to much moisture but seems to have kept it drier if anything!
Disc’d it in this morning.

My old man loves some more recreational ploughing and it was far to tall to turn over so had to chop it. And to be fair, diesel is a lot cheaper than glyphosate at the moment 😂.

Won't be doing much here for a day or 2. Finished up some ploughing after Maize today with 12 furrows working last headland rain was torrential , the 2 of us barely managed to finish a headland!
36 acres of 1 cut wonder grass to go in and 70 acres of WW then we are done :)
