Extase 2nd wheat . First 2 pics heavier ground
Then Costello and Gleam after maize . Light to medium
Graham drilled after beet in November , light to medium soil
Gleam after maize on a field called Gravel hole, which I rarely chance wheat on as it’s so gravely

Wheat on anything that’s not heavy clay going off very quickly in north Essex. And the clay has cracks deep as any sub soiler will go. Winter barley will be combined next week.

Concern at my second wheats, lot of take all, a lot of blind heads, not convinced there is any grain there!! I am starting to get concerned what is more most expensive crop ever grown, by some margin, may also be my worst ever yield!... :bag:

I don’t think I have seen crops go off as quick. It isn’t going to be a late harvest that’s for sure. I wonder how close to the 1st august people will be into wheat if it stays like this.

There's wheat on the more undulating land nearby going really pale, really quickly. I think we could be ten days early, so having a try early August but really not ready until the 13th.....typical as I have a party that weekend.
