LG mountain drilled next to Cassia. Mountain maturing quicker. Normally longer anything's growing the better in my experience.

Had a good old ride around today, up to Mablethorpe via Spalding, back home over Wolds via Wragby and Lincoln.
Has to be said, there are as many poor looking crops as good ones, some of the fen looks completely sad and washed out.
Block of maybe 500ac of planted spuds alongside road by Toynton area very sad looking, and look to have been washed out of baulks in places.
It must be very frustrating.

Travelled in the opposite direction yesterday from Norfolk to Dorset and it's much the same. You'll drive through an area and everything will look excellent then another 30 miles or so everything looks shockingly poor and this was repeated for the whole journey.
Cambridgeshire/Essex/beds/Herts area had some cracking crops of black grass with a real brown haze to the whole field.

Here’s my worst field of osr. It has sat in cold wet clay since October. Even the pigeons are starting to give up eating it. It will get 50 kg of N then if it stays wet it dies, if it dries up I’ll get some kind of harvest.

Hello Brisel. I was just looking back and wondered if this field had recovered? I hope it doesn't bring back bad memories!
Thank you

My winter bird food will have to be redone. Got it in just before the rain and was very pleased with myself but now have a ferocious flush of weeds as it was too dry for a good kill before drilling. Cold and wet so the plants haven't moved and got mullered by slugs. Flea beetle working on the brassicas as usual. All in all my own fault for being impatient, it was too cold and early but after the great drought I was worried we wouldn't get much rain
