State of your crops?

The opposite actually, I has a bit of mix left over (half acres worth) and went to do a pure Fung application as very few weeds at the time, but these few weeds inc Mayweed were all wiped out, so half rate then diluted to 1/25th ie 1/50th rate worked really well.
I had similar happen on spring tritical, I'd finished a field of wheat that had half rate ally max and had a few litres left in the tank added enough water to do MN on 4 ha of Trit and the ally nuked all the small nettle, fathen, bindweed ect.

Yet 3/4 rate Thor at a different timing had done sod all for mayweed in winter barley but done a good job on groundsel🤷

Just had a quick ride round a few fields before I clock off for the weekend. Wheats are still looking promising, if we get some rain could see some of our best yielding crops we’ve had for a while!

The earlier drilled spring barley (ovation) has shot in the past couple of days, had a quick walk through and glad I gave it a sniff of ccc now!

Rats would be my concern too
Not much barley in crop tbh
Contemplating spraying off and combining it cause Im very short of barley and could use the grassland stuff for bedding
Would Probably make the 1075 snort a bit though
Trust me on this, the only place for wholecrop is in a very well sealed pit preferably with grass silage on top .
Rats and crows will play merry hell with bales and losses could be high
As well as that do you really want to be handling the wrap after the vermin have had lunch ???
Run the combine through it . It is what it is the straw will make great feeding though
Had a field of drought struck spring wheat last year overrun with grass plenty of gly a plain knife and lots of patience got it through the combine .(y);)

had a walk/ride round yesterday afternoon and whilst w.wheat and barley wether sp or w have all improved and the osr appear in the main to be full of promise ive come away with a nagging thought that this could be an if only harvest.
If only the rain in autumn hadnt been constant could have got a bit more wheat in.
If only the rain over winter had relented the areas of flood/standing water albeit not that big would have a full crop.
If only the spring had warmed up earlier so as growth started sooner and allowed us to get the sp barley up and away
if only the spring drought hadnt held tillering back and allowed a few more to survive.
now to harvest
if only we can harvest the crops in good dry conditions
if only the grain price remains above average
if only we didnt need to make up for last years yields
if only ? mindst as a glass half full kinda guy I think theres a chance it could be almost 2/3rds full

Maize on 10th June
Trial strip had no digestate, whereas the rest of the field did (from farm fed AD plant - maize, rye, FYM, slurry and potatoes).
Everything else the same - fertiliser injected when drilled.

We've also done a trial in another field of digestate only (applied before drilling) and no fertiliser at all. Currently to the eye the digestate only maize looks identical to the rest of the fertilised field. We're doing a leaf test, to get some proper analysis.
Is that a nutrient effect or a moisture difference?

Same here.

In spite of too many obvious deficiencies here, this year's certainly bound to turn out better than last year - short of another record-breaking wet harvest.

:cautious:
I usually am too,but whether it's a result of going to the pub to watch a rather uninspiring game of footie or something else, but while spraying some S Barley this morning I couldn't help but think the worst.

It looks ok, but I'm not expecting much, thin and weak. Planted 23rd march. Stuff planted 2 weeks later is completely different.
W B poor and septoria in the wheat.

Last year the SB came from nowhere, cant imagine that happening again.

'Sigh' 😣

44 mm's here. Grass for hay is now going to take some cutting - glad finger bar mower's are a thing of the past!
Some s barley gone down especially where contractor emptied his slurry pipes out when dribble baring!
56mm just north of Sleaford in the last couple of days. Corn still stood, silage grass flat on the electric fence….

3mm here and a lovely day, glad I didn’t get too concerned about the biblical forecast for us earlier in the week

Stuff getting better by the day but nothing will be early. Mid to late August before anything will be fit I think
