State of your crops?

Given the late drilling date and the amount of rain that’s gone on them I’m pleasantly pleased with the state of my crops.

I do have two small fields that are below par but most are looking well.

How are others looking?

Wheat and barley below, no rape this year but locally it looks well.

Before the last week's rain I'd say mine were looking good. All wheat after oats so was never going to be lush but decent roots, even, and no BG. Fast forward and I have no intention of looking outside until the new year. So wet. So disappointing.

The OSR story this year is so different from last, all the rape around here looks fantastic, makes me wish we had some (almost!)
Are there areas where it’s not doing so well or is this the countrywide experience this year?

It’s my fields after oats that are struggling a bit here, headlands are fine though??

Your photos appear to be lacking the glint of light on water evident in all of mine over the last month.

Generally good. Abit of poor rape on some ground that lacks fertility. Winter barley looks brilliant and the wheat looks good too, the last drilled bit which is second wheat is a little slow and the the 70ha we broadcast looks reasonable but is a bog.
The area in general a mixed bag some fantastic crops but many poor crops and bare fields about aswell.

Our stuff looks good overall. Wet hollows obviously not great.
I do worry for some of the late sown stuff around here after paschendale potatoes, but with anticipated markets for spring barley I guess the gamble may be worth it.

WW here is pretty patchy and a lot in the area is too, mainly wet holes being the reason but personally not much in this year as big wheat year last. W Beans all up in row and looking very well, even the stuff I ploughed in is poking through although it was too wet to get a pre-em on so not sure what the outcome will be for that, guess use it as a cover. OSR not great, some excellent but have lost circa 90ac to FB

Wheat not to bad, quite a few wet holes again on the bits I haven’t got piped in the digger. Issue is heavy and flat, I think all those picture in the first post of the thread have probably 3 times the fall than our whole farm

My 1st autumn with my new drill, very much a learning curve, but overall I'm very satisfied with the way things are looking.
OSR drilling dates spread over nearly 3wks,21/8 to 11/9but its there apart from some compacted headlands.
Wheats cannot complain, all 1st,Ive dropped 2nds,walked really well considering the amount of rain we had yesterday.
All it had was a straw rake, couple of wks later in wth Claydon.
Still half my farm to drill with spring crops most of that is on my heavy ground.

its wet here but other than a couple of headlands and the usual bog hole crops look fine and 100% sown up as planned ,atm no real concerns other than the advanced stage of the osr its knee high. The new seeds are thriving and the cover crop seems to be doing its job ready for spring sowing, im much happier than last year

On the whole okay, better than last year. No OSR. Beans look clean despite no pre em. Barley has a few drill tractor wheelings in places. WW generally okay apart form a few headlands, some not up yet though.
Very wet here now, but extremely wet north of us from rain 2 days ago ie flooded.
