This Kerrin is a 2nd wheat drilled with a demo Claydon disc drill.

Has been looking yellow and sick all winter but not bad at all now. 2nd wheats don't often do brilliantly on our land but fingers crossed.

Sick and yellow is Kerrin's default setting, it's not a nice wheat to look at in less than perfect conditions. It tips scorches and generally looks crap at any excuse, then often yields quite well.

im fairly sure straw will be in demand theres none left , dont dismiss the income from,- if you were a butcher the fiveth1/4

Be nice if an acre of corn, straw and bps was £1000....but in reality last time straw was good money it was still only around £35 an acre, and by the time the stock men have hmmed and haaaed about headlands being damp (wouldn't have been if they got out and turned them) I could have had my 110ac ploughed and power harrowed.

Will decide on the day. Might do some rounds for my brother.

Chop the headlands and flog the field swaths. Around here it's one of the most sinful acts to show straw or to even check the chopped blades during the combines pre season check!!!!!!!

Made good progress through T1 on ww today.
They’re definitely starting to get a move on now as it’s warmed up a little, just need a bit of sunshine now!

My last drilled block of spring barley is getting together now since the rain. A bit thinner than I'd like but each plant has 3 or 4 tillers now coming so will be ok.

There's even an odd place where it's only just germinated since the rain.
The early drilled fields look like silage now.

Wheat from a few days ago is looking well enough, just need some sun.

I have about 13 acres looks like your last bit of barley where it’s just coming in big patches but it will catch up

You're not wrong about the Extase being thick. This is after a 20 year grass ley however...
