State of your crops?

What sort of straw yield tonnes per acre would you expect off a good crop of barley like you have pictured?

I'm a complete novice to cereal growing.

I've got cassia up to my chest again this year(I'm 6'4", not a midget) and I get 8 sometimes even 10 5 foots an acre.

Never had hybrids yield as much straw despite them looking to yield more in the field.

The winter barley/spring wheat experiment will be confusing the neighbours. This time last week it was winter barley. This week it is spring wheat.

Given the late drilling date and the amount of rain that’s gone on them I’m pleasantly pleased with the state of my crops.

I do have two small fields that are below par but most are looking well.

How are others looking?

Wheat and barley below, no rape this year but locally it looks well.View attachment 928979View attachment 928980View attachment 928981View attachment 928982
Ive about 300 acres sown in spring wheat and 500 in barley. 400 in winter crops. Spring wheat is struggling but barley is flying. Soil got lime this year on all fields and the crops are on the same type of soil. There isnt much growth in any of them but you can definitely tell that the barley is doing well better.
