Terpal doesn't seem to have had the effect expected of it, this season.

Possibly it just needed increased rates to combat the unusual conditions.

Is that a nutrient effect or a moisture difference?

Can't determine which at this stage. Will continue to monitor and analyse, and pass on results when we know.
Our second trial strip is "fertiliser and digestate" vs "only digestate", so that will tell us more.

Different growing conditions each year will obviously impact the effect (or not) of digestate. And this year the moisture in the digestate could've had more of an impact than anything else.

Hard to believe, it looked all kinds of ill all April and well into May. Cassia with 0.4 canopy at t2, only a shorty's waist high, fingers crossed.

most of our winter barley looks better than it did but barley always looks good when its in head, 25% still crap, you cant alter the winter deluge!

Yes, the contractor had trouble with a new to him drill . Thankfully only twice round before noticing . It’s like a box hedge

My Chilham spring wheat looks good. First year we’ve grown spring wheat for a long time but very impressed with it compared to varieties of old. Tillered a lot. The dry spell after drilling didn’t help on really strong patches but recent rain has seen a strong recovery.
