Staunching head wounds in sheep

We have a ram lamb with a gash at the base of his horn (it's always a ram lamb). Have cleaned up the blood running down his face and put blue spray at the base of his horn but the wound is bleeding again today. Is there any coagulant powder or spray which could stem the bleeding ? Could only think about a bandage or spider's webs but didn't have any on me at the time. Wouldn't like to try cauterising as the wound is just above the eye.

I'd find him some fly spray too

Really old fashioned but some clean cobweb gives a mesh for the blood to clot to or a lump of dry moss?

Will get some of this, particular lamb has been a nuisance with head stuck in fences twice in the past few weeks !
