Steam cleaner issues

Can anybody help please? My steam cleaner has started playing up. Its an approx 8 yo Eagle. I used it yesterday and it no longer turns itself off when you have let go of the trigger for a minute or so and the high pressure pump pulses for about a second every 10 seconds. Any idea of what to look for check etc? My knowledge of steam cleaners could be written on a postage stamp. Is it likely to be a sticking valve or something? Hadn't been used for a couple of months. Don't want to pay anyone for something simple. TIA
Ps @Mursal did you help me with something like this before or am I imagining it?

Probably worth changing the high pressure solenoid. My Gerni did this, replaced the pump overload solenoid and sorted it out.

Not sure to be honest ...........

Try using it loads with the trigger pulled, we have one with a cable tie holding it open.
Then after a good bit of work try to turn it off?
Recreational stripping of pressure washers must be avoided at all times.

Is there much pressure when you are working with it? Is there a bad vibration/ high frequency pulse?
It'll start up again once the pressure drops when it loses pressure in the system.
Any leaking hoses for a start?

You've either got an external water leak (trigger, hose etc) allowing pressure to escape or the seals in the bypass valve are poorly.

This is why it doesn't switch off because the constant cycling of the bypass valve keeps tripping the shutdown switch...

That makes sense.
