Ok, so I stripped that solenoid down on top of the pump. It was seized , so freed it up nicely. Now getting 100 bar pressure, very happy. My next issue is getting it to heat. Now there it does have full tank of fuel, however, this could be very old fuel. So it might not be igniting. Should I hear any kind of clicking from the igniters when I pull the trigger on the lance?. One of the pipes coming from the fuel tank does have a small split in it but is not leaking diesel so I am assuming this is some sort of breather pipe???. Any common fault to look for?
Cheers

Have you fuel coming out the bleeder screw on the pump, loosen it with your fingers and put it running, outside or at least have a fire extinguisher near by.
Run it for a while cold and do a bit now and then to the boiler, they are very temperamental and take time to get right. Good you have pressure, you can do a bit.

I will have a go at this in the morning. Could old fuel play a part in this problem?

I have a Nilfisk Neptune 5. Has done years of sterling service but is rusting out due to being left outside all its life except when very cold.

I have been quoted for a Brigadier. Any good?

X army Brigadier or civilian?
Only kidding, never heard of them as a washer, might be new to the market.

Unlikely new fuel will solve the problem, but will be a step in the right direction ................
Home heating oil is best (kero), for older burners.
If you have an air slot you can close on the fan, have it about half open half closed

There is not a clicking sound when it sparks. All the lights will light if it gets a fuel block or runs out of fuel. I would take the electrodes and the fuel nozzle out of the top of the heating unit, easy to do just three nuts and run it with the diesel connected to see what is happening. At least you will know if it has no fuel or spark. I had to put a new ignition coil in mine a while back. www.aspw.co.uk are good for non genuine spares.

Hello to all in the Forum,

I bought a KEW 1502VA that runs on cold only.
Do you think damn fuel pumps can be repaired or better to buy a new one?

You should be able to strip it down (same as house boiler) vanes sometimes stick in the rotor.
Ensure you have plenty of fuel coming at the bleeder

The guy that sold it to me told me it needed a NEW pump (??)
Let´s see if I can repair this one

If they are like central heating boiler pumps and mine on nixon certainly looks like it is then there not expensive to buy new. Had new one on boiler at home and was about £40 inc vat i think..

Yes looks like a washing machine belt, wont take much to run the fan. Washing machine belts have vee's but don't stress about them as long as its the correct length. Local belt supplier (or washing machine fixer) any numbers on the fragments to help?

A pair of stockings might work if you can do a neat enough knot, I'll leave that one with you ...............
