Steelscout, significantly cheaper than stockholders, but around a 5 day lead time. Most of the time the steel we get comes direct from Tata at Port Talbot.

Any steel we ever need comes from Dyfed - they're usually in the area fairly frequently.

Worth speaking to your local steel shed fabricators too - they can probably sell it to you cheaper than you could buy it in from anywhere else.

Who have you fell out with?

Local firm to us in oxford , quoted me , wanted to pay and they refused to take payment for 48hrs-over the weekend to make quote invalid due to having the wrong price quoted , owner giving me all the hard times shite and wouldn’t stand to it , that’s enough so I told them I won’t use them again

Also will do precutting and or drilling etc which can save a lot of donkey work. At least one UK machinery manufacturer has most of their steel arrive pre cut and drilled, ready to just weld together etc.

I use my old boss Peter Booth at Milcombe near banbury. He has all the common stuff in stock all ways cheap for me, but not a steel stockest as such although he will have way more stock than witney steel!
