Visited an Amish farm. They had a 100 hp donkey engine on a bogey to drive a power harrow, the bogey was towed by horses. The bogey had a couple of subsoiler legs to act as a brake if the ph pushed forward.
Their workshop had the most rechargeable batteries I have ever seen but no electric lights!
I can't help but think that no matter what religion or god someone follows, if that god saw a farmer comfortably driving across a field on a set of Michelins, then saw their followers bouncing on steel wheels. That god would be happy if they scrapped the steels, and bought some tyres.
Big temptation if you're around Marshfield WI, lots of smaller pneumatic tired cabbed tractors pulling an enclosed wagon on pneumatic tires, or just an enclosed trailer for the family and the shopping. Mostly horse and buggy Amish closer to home, but they can borrow rubber tire farm equip, just can't own it or drive it, only pull it with horses.
