I wonder who by as parts are delivered to the assembly point on a just in time basis so likely not by the man on the assembly line.

True somewhere down the line there was a mistake but what was commented was how the workforce never picked up on the mistake, but was commented how the Austrians would have spotted it, many coming from small farms around the area and knowing the product more.

Yes, I’d be very surprised if the workforce didn’t pick up on it, after all, that’s what they see every day, something different would stand out like a sore thumb you would think.

Or the one that put the wrong parts on is one of those people that don't give a f*ck, they just do what they're told to do. I personally can't stand that type, since in my opinion people should have even some brain functions. I've seen the "assembly line" type of worker a few times, pretty sad.

Do you know if that was a balls up or if there was a reason why they did that?
I just don’t believe they’re that dumb.
It’s not as if they can just pick and choose from a range of bits to bolt on, everything is delivered to the point of assembly in the right order for fitting according to the model being built.

There will be people picking the components for delivery to the assembly line. The systems I have seen have a built in checking mechanism in that once an item has been selected from the shelf it is scanned to confirm that it belongs to that particular build. If the selection procedure is being followed properly and the wrong component gets through then somebody somewhere inputted the incorrect data, or there was a glitch in the software/data which expressed itself in the red fenders. It all goes to show that nothing is infallible, especially computer systems.
