Yes, it's a great tool! Once you get the knack it should only take two swipes to sharpen each tooth unless it's a badly worn chain. The biggest benefit being that the guides/rackers get filed to a consistent height as you go.

Respectful i was told its a gimmick?
Ive never used one so should not comment eh
Am i missing out??

I've always used the standard stihl file holder
I get on with it, some people don't. I've tried most options, but find the easy file the most convenient - especially when out in the field. There's definitely a knack to keeping it straight, but I picked it up fairly quickly.

Picked up one last year and it’s a fantastic job. So quick and easy to do especially out in the woods when you hit something taking the edge of the saw and need it sharpened fast. Money well spent.

got the pfred ones and also the older chain sharp ones where you had to swap the files around to do each side.
im not sure on the newer one to be fair my smaller 3/8 lp chain has a hell of a bite on it so leaders/rakers. too low and the 3/8 standard chain I feel it's not eneff. bite
the older chain sharp one I know my 3/8 chain was a lot better. will try it later on and see if it makes any diffrence
did read somewhere a few guys that were finding were not filling the rakers even so one side a slight pull off

Yeah , actually ...I like to file rakers separately.
I use a grinding stone wheel in a cordless drill, I find it's a good easy way to be precise with how much you take off .
Edit : if you use a bolt /clamp / arbor type grinding wheel, when it wears down, unevenly as its does ( because you tend to use one side to grind the raker and at the same time avoiding the cutter )....
.... then dismantle the abor / stone and turn it around to use the other side and even up wear..... but dont forget its lefthand thread ;)(y)
