Any idea what soil temp is on heavy land?
May have dried a little on top, but very cold underneath. Snow still lying in ditches, surely wheat seed will just sit and do nothing?

Looked out the window..... more white stuff falling albeit very light but I reckon its only 3oC outside. Same as yourself still snow in the lee of hedges ...supposed to turn a bit by the weekend. Doubt the soils much above 4/5oC.

Too cold for linseed / spring rape. Will have to start on the barley and wheat soon. Soil temp at depth was 3 degrees yesterday.

Hard frost here again this morning and a bitter east wind, fields looking barer everyday. No chance drilling into heavier land which only warms up in april in a normal year!
