Stirling Bull sales Simmental / Charolais

i think i bought one of the few that wasn't well done,
I think your bull is a bit immature, he'll be well enough done from that home, he'll mature fine and will breed good females.

If I was looking for a bull, your bull would have been one of my choices, along with the 2 Finlarg bulls and the red Wolfstar bull.

Yes, I have expensive taste, I just don't have the bank balance to match :)
James Whightman (Coxhill) had a good young bull who would have been good value.

I didn't see much else that I'd have wanted. It's unusual for me to see 5 bulls that I'd be happy to own, I'm usually struggling to find 1 or 2 that I'd take home.

Thank you, he is most defiantly a immature, he still has that baby face! i agree the Finlarg bulls did also catch our eye they had a good day too, and looking back the red bull from Ross probably had the edge over the champion.

i also liked the Pitmudie bull , but not quite enough length for me though. Denizies herd had a good sale too

i thought overall locomotion was better than october sale,

Even with the weight penalties and perceived calving problems the charolais bulls still outsold all other breeds at stirling
Charolais being linked with calving issues is an old fashioned notion, calving problems are no more of an issue for them than for any other breed these days.

Getting cattle finished his weight limits shouldn't be an issue.
360kg at 55% dead is still over 650kg live.
Easily fleshed cattle of any breed will be ready for that weight if people know what they are doing.

The issue with weight limits is the value of the animal at lighter weights IMO.

If people are to lean towards keeping small cows these days they need something to make the calves grow, 250kg carcasses don't run into much money.

I assume from that post that you are suspicious.

If so, I can assure you there will be nothing but straight trading where the King family are concerned.
Alec and Ross are extremely genuine and very modest men!
Fair enough then. . Having seen all sorts of shenanigans at Pedigree Sales i always have my suspicious hat on:)
