Stitches

managed to trim the tip of my little finger pretty hard last week.......don’t ask!! Suffice to say that slamming it in the car door and trying to walk away wasn’t a smart move, even trimmed the tip of the finger bone off.

Guy stitches it and then suggests and X-ray ‘just in case’......... bit of bone in there, I told him that, I could see it when the tip of my pinky was flapping in the wind as the Mrs drove me to a&e (very smart, kept it cold). We need to cut it open again to get the bone.........I’m never going to have a poxy ring block again, it hurt and looked painful as I watched too.
So bone in it is!

And now I’m trying to cut the stitches out, even the gp surgery nurse isn’t allowed scissors sharp enough to cut jelly so I’m not going there. What sort of stitch this guy has done is a mystery, was supposed to be three, I think there’s five.

Anyhow, cut one and give it a tug, the other side of my finger hurts and half an inch of blue mini bale twine gets wedged in there somewhere. Now if I cut the wrong bit the inside of my pinky I going be full of stitch, bet he didn’t stretch to dissolvable ones. Whatever the bloke did he was making sure my finger wasn’t going to fall off.

What do I do, do I just leave it?

just pull out all that's visible and do not cut any level with the skin, do not all have to b removed at same time

I would if it wasn’t attached somewhere else. Somehow he’s daisy chained them to each other through the middle of my finger!

They’ll grow out if I just leave them in? Just wanted any potential bacteria entry healed up really.

I know I shouldn't but

You're a liability.

Chopped the tip of your finger off in the door. :inpain:

Even the dissolvable ones don't always fully dissolve, I've pulled bits of them out in the past.

Short of going to see the nurse in the gp I'm not sure how you're going to get them out.
She'll give you a right old telling off for trying yourself though :nailbiting:
