Stocking Rate for 300kg Angus Bullocks over the Summer months.

Thinking ahead to 2021. How many Angus bullocks would 35 acres comfortably graze, bought in at around 300 kgs in March, grazed for the summer and sold around end of October/ early November. I know that there might have to be some bales taken out, if grass got ahead of them. Thanks for any input.

Most likely strip grazed. This is old pasture, good land. Hopefully not much fertiliser, but definitely some. I certainly don't want to over stock.

We're running 90 on 37.5 acres / 15 hectares, but could really use another 30-35.

About 5 - 5.5 per hectare will keep on top of things, depends how summer-safe you are and what you'd do if it gets dry - if you can offload a few, then definitely go hard in the springtime.

If not then 4.5-5/ha and plan to bale a few ha or defer it and feed it off when you need to bump your round out later in the season..
They don't have a full mouth so it pays to keep the grass in good nick, they don't do as well on stemmy stuff.

I've got a block of land where I run around 60 on 45 acres for may and june, then as cuts of silage are done, it goes up to 70 acres for july and august, then 100 acres September and October, weather dependant

As I said at the outset, it will be Angus bullocks only. No fodder cut, only to take out some grass, where necessary. Four divisions, 11, 8, 6 and 5 acres. Plan would be to strip graze each field.
