Stokboard

Need a couple of sheeted gates made for cattle shed, and I'm tempted to sheet them using Stokboard, galv tin always goes at the bottom and looks crap in no time.
What thickness for that job? Think you get 6, 9, 12mm. I know it expands on hot days and you need to drill bigger holes etc.
Our local builders merchants has 6 and 12 in stock.
Also what roughly should be the price? I thought he was savage when I got a price the other day.
What fixings are best? Will ordinary Tek screws be ok?
Thanks

I use 9 on cattle gates, 12 is overkill.

Priced like marine ply, i.e expensive.

I hold mine on with 8mm roof bolts through 50 x 10 flat between the gate box or rails.

Hope that helps.

Bought last stuff from solway. Prices on website.

Thanks for that.
Didn't realise they dealt direct.

Better price on web than local builders merchamts and a 3m x1.5m sheet suits my job better too.

Anybody know where you get the cup headed screws to fix it?
Like the idea of self tapping into the box section rather than Pan Mixers way. Very impressive tidy gates though!

I did try self drillers into the box, many broke or pulled out and so I went to 6mm roof bolts, many broke or pulled out.

Now I use the 8mm ones, bizarrely some of them gradually unscrew the nut with the temp change, lose 2 or 3 a year out of 500 ish.
