Stomach pump

hello folks, has anyone bought a stomach pump on the Internet? Or where could I get one? Thanks
I don't know what they r technically called! The pumps the vets use for pumping fluid into cows?

Drench set and pump.

Google both Aggers and Selekt. Have used the Aggers pumps but after several pump failures have switched to the Selekt version, as the pump is of heavier build, and serviceable (ie washers and seals). Unfortunately the select is £100 notes dearer than the Aggers, but is, imo, the mutts nuts of drench sets.

Bought it off my local vet practise as their price was the same as online price which included 2 day delivery. Vet had it ready for collection next day.

We supply a few to clients and are usually as cheap as anywhere else, as much as anything because the delivery route is established.

Just be careful that you can get t wrong and drown cows. Need to check you can smell rumen gas before pumping anything and ideally watch it pass down the neck. The vet insurers issued a warning after a number of cows drowned by vets.

We have our own pump but rarely use it ourselves for the reason bovine gave and the fact that I pay by the litre for vet time. Vet made a good point though that these stomach pumps go from farm to farm are they being cleaned well enough? I doubt it. For the sake of £100 it's well worth having your own

Yes a young vet drowned a cow at my brother-in-laws
I've wondered about getting a pump, but IMO if the cow is poorly it's as well to get the vet anyway

I always grab the throat of the cow and you can feel the tube go down outside of the windpipe. I won't pump if I didn't feel the tube go down. It's harder to feel on fat cows.

The tube always smells a bit like rumen gas mixed with plastic tubing smell. I don't trust that.

If the tube is in windpipe when holding the windpipe you can kind of feel the tube vibrating down the windpipe but never feel the actual tube if that makes sense.

In the US I watched some Mexicans tubing cows on a big fam. They just shoved it down no checking. I asked how they know it's in the right place. He said. "2 pumps, wait, no cough, right place"
