No axe to grind on this. Just read on fb. WARNING TO ALL TRACTOR DRIVERS..... Did you know it is against the law to stop in your tractor to get food or drinks!!! Ben Hoyles didn't until last Saturday n...ight. After a long day baling hay we stopped on our way home to get some well needed fish&chips before they closed, Ben parked tractor in a car park, after about 2mins were blocked in by a police car and was asked what we were doing! So he told them we just finished work and needed food. We were then lectured for 20mins that Farmers are not allowed to stop for food or drinks as the tractor was running on red diesel and therefore was using it for personal use!! And they could do Ben for tax avoidance!!!!!! They weren't worried if the tractor was stolen they were only worried about Ben avoiding TAX. They even told us that the police are not allowed to stop to get food and drinks when working!! They checked over the tractor and all they could find was a slightly worn hydraulic pipe on the loader, they left us to eat our now cold food and said don't do it again! What a crazy world, maybe they were offended because Ben was eating a battered sausage!! Madness, please spread the word
