Stopping red fading

Have what is supposed to be a red l200 2013. Didnt want a red car again after having one years ago but the price was right.

Anyway last week was the second time I spent a whole day t cutting it to get rid of all the oxidised paint. I only had a bottle of the original turtle wax so I applied that after and was pretty pleased with myself.

Today I noticed a pink haze coming on the door and bonnet!

I know that one side of the cargo bay was resprayed before I got it and it never fades!

Anyone know what i can put on it to stop this or is it a losing battle? Mate has one in red and he's given up on his.

Its how you wash it.
Dont use TFR on red. give it a full decon, then paint refurb. (sub £500) then seal with a good ceramic wax.

Done loads of faded reds.

Autoglym super resin Polish. Twice if faded badly. And Autoglym HD wax.

Tend to stay red with a good bit of graft once in a while

What’s wrong with a pink car?
My grandad used to wash the Isuzu trooper every Sunday with fairy liquid, it went pink very quickly!

Have a 10 plate as work truck and is so bad my wee one calls it the pinkup
Bought it at three year old and after a few months started to fade badly think it had came from a farm next to the sea and had been well valeted before I got it

Reds are prone to this ,Case red etc something to do with the pigment.

Think you can get wax with some colour in it to bring the colour back up, friend valets some tractors and has used it on Case tractors in the past.

Bodyshops can do a process they call mopping, use a cutting compound to remove top layer of faded paint then polish lower layer and apply a type of sealer or laquer. Youtube can provide the answers.

This stuff works in restoring faded paint & will protect it for so long.
There are though lots of products available now to protect paint.
Ceramic being the hardest wearing, longest lasting although generally not cheap option.

Thanks for the replies. I did t cut it to remove all the oxidised paint. Then polished it with turtle wax. Now polished it again and I can see small areas of pink haze appearing here and there. So if I can't keep it red I'll either have to get someone to do something more drastic or give up. Worth noting the canopy never faded so assume the l200 paint is rubbish
