Store lambs or breeding lambs

I’ve a small flock of about 40 sheep and lambs and 20 acres and they seem to be causing a lot more problems than it’s worth as I don’t have a lot of time to be messing about catching them up all the time I know that’s just typical sheep but thinking about getting rid and buying in store lambs to fatten instead just wondering what people think if it will be just as profitable as breeding lambs. Cheers

It’s only a little side hobby not expecting to make millions just looking to see which route is best

Some years it’s profitable too feed stores. Some years not. It’s all in the buying and getting the treatments right.

as an off shoot, why are you having too gather them all the time? If ours get gathered once a month through summer that’s definitely it, not usually that much. Catch lame ewes in the field and throw plenty of lime in gateways/ around mineral blocks for the lambs too walk in

by the time you have brought resistant worms and codd/scab in you will be soon fed up of that route as well , better off letting your land out if you dont have time
Not all store lambs have these problems though, if some came to me and wanted 40 healthy lambs I would supply them without them buying 8 pens out of market.
