caravans.

Got a cousin who d containers. Gets no end of bother. His recent one was 3 X 40 foot containers stuffed with tyres.

They even beat his CCTV.

he also gets a lot of non payers as most people store crap in them.

Fair comment that-least caravan is their own property and obvious.

Slight different money though perhaps-containers are £100+ a month from what I have seen.

Which would you say is better?
Containers or caravan's?
Probably containers in the long run
You have the purchase price of the container to take into account
I work on the basis, that if someone comes along and is prepared to sign up for a year then I will buy a container ( if I have room)
All of mine are long term, never had one leave, but then I charge less than the local competition

Please don't overlook getting planning permission. We are currently assisting someone who failed to secure planning for the storage of caravans and containers and the council have slapped enforcement notice after enforcement notice. If only they had come to us first.

Thanks for your input in this on George!

Am I correct in remembering that retrospective planning is treated differently than (advance) full planning?

Maybe I've got muddled, but I remember once being told that some planning permissions include a limited scope i.e. no highways consultation etc. because the activity is already happening. I'm pretty sure it wasn't permitted development (albeit I realised this too has limited scope).

There is no difference in the scope of a retrospective application than a full (proposed) application; in fact councils now look on retrospective applications more harshly and nit pick at the details. As a planning consultant we have to charge far more for retrospective applications due to the extra time we have to put into them, we literally have to justify it to the n'th degree and plead ignorance on behalf of our clients; plus there tends to be Enforcement Officers to deal with if it is retrospective because the client has been 'found out'.

Thank you. :)

Must be something else I was thinking of then.

EDIT: I believe Certificate of Lawful use would be classed as such.
