Had a spectacular show last night about midnight in Banffshire. Serious lightening flashes and some very loud bangs of thunder.
I must be quite sad as I went out into the buildings to watch it.
Rain gauge saying 44mm this morning since 11pm.
Hot and sunny now.

I absolutely love a good storm but in Dumfriesshire we seem to miss most of them.
Monday night we had severe rain and some decent rumbles and flashes but well spaced apart so not a decent watch.

Had bugger all since.

90mm overnight in Perth which is 6 weeks worth. Half of that fell in one hour.
Never known thunder and lightning like it. Pretty much non stop sheet lightening from 9pm to 7am.
Hasn’t done the fields or local roads much good

Our nearest weather station recorded 65mm last night but some mess left.

A pretty spectacular non stop display of lightning that went on from 7pm through most of the night. It was like a welder was going most of the time with flashes every few seconds.
35mm of rain here but neighbour reckons it's more like 45 🤷‍♂️
Everyone's safe so thays the main thing.

Think we have had over 50mm. hard to tell as the measuring device was overflowing...
11 miles east in Haddington they had virtually nothing.

See my first post...

We also had lots of thunder around 5pm today. So that's 3 storms in 3 days
