1 of the carriages has ended up going down a steep bank, part of the track was hit badly by flooding before the accident. My thoughts are with the victims families at this sad time as 3 lives have been lost.Train derailed not far from here.
Scary stuff.

Apparently train had switched tracks because of the wet conditions. It be very difficult recovery operation.Photo I saw showed one carriage upside down with another also upside down on top of it and a third also on top but not inverted. I've also read that the train was virtually empty - 9 people of which three souls didn't make it and six did but still needed to be taken to hospital. If that's the case, then Covid has probably saved a lot of commuter lives as it would normally be much busier than that.
I was down there spraying for farmer whose land it lyes onto a few weeks ago. There is fairly major engineering works going on exactly where it happened. Hope this wasn't a contributing factor.1 of the carriages has ended up going down a steep bank, part of the track was hit badly by flooding before the accident. Could see the ambulance parked on matting they were using for access to field.
