Its pollock rope scrapers that were put in, biggest issue with the hyd ones is theres so many things can stop them going.
Yeah we put Pollock ones in last year they have been great. We replaced dairypower Hydraulics then at the start of this year put more Pollock rope ones in and replaced a shed which had cowcare ropes. In the middle of putting more in once sheds finished. Yeah to much goes wrong with Hydraulics ours didn't stop only when time cut out cows where in some state.

Anyone got a view in whether Pollock rope scrapers are better than Storth rope scrapers? Is the quality of rope the same? How long does the rope last? Currently have wire rope but have to change it every 18 months

Well I think personally they're heads above them all family run business first class service. They won a silver award up at the Royal Highland show for the Rope Scraper.. when I got a quote off of storth and Pollock. Storth and Pollock use the same type of Rope but Storths rope is 10mm and little more expensive than Pollocks rope. Pollocks Rope is 12mm double the strength and is Cheaper than Storth 10mm. The reason I went for Pollock is they have like a pressure limit switch on the drives. So that its doesn't strain the rope when it pressure stops. I've had my first set in coming up 2 year and not broken a rope yet. Also the sales man fits the scrapers himself

12mm? Cowcare uses 20mm or am I wrong?
Yeah its completely different rope altogether different make and type. Even tho its thicker ain't always better ;) cowcares rope is cheap rubbish and when it broke I had to replace full length was costing fortune. Pollock one ain't broke yet and if and when it does I'll be able to knott it together again to get me up and running.

What made you change the cowcare one? Are you finding pollock a lot better? Did you change the whole system?

The reason why we changed was the cowcare scraper the rope was breaking every 4-6 months. I spoke to a chap and he said turn the pressure switch down which I did and made no difference. I has issues with gear boxes it was leaving a lot of loose rope down the wall. I got talking to chap at pollocks last year his name was Will. He told me to try there rope which I did and it lasted longer he fitted it for me. Then once the gear boxes failed I just called him and he converted the whole system to pollock control panel scrapers the lot far far simpler. Still going great and have more on order. Family run business and another plus they dont bolt drives to the wall.

Overwrite them. From memory: If you want to get rid of extra sequences enter the lane numbers as 0, then go back and enter the time as 00.00. With ours if you just zero the lanes it trips out of auto when it gets to the previously saved times.

Yes that is what I do. At 00:00 it will come to life briefly but the scrapers won't go.
