Strange vision

Hello any doctors look in here???

I've recently been noticing a strange shimmering flashing shape in the left side of my vision.
The shape is a < shape yes a < shape.
It's in the left side of my vision quite large too wether I close 1 or both eyes it's still there But then can suddenly disappear, I had iritus when it was 15 ish I'm now 35.
It comes on suddenly and goes just as quick I sometimes take a paracetamol but this I can't confirm helps or not...

It's like a lightening very fast flashing shimmering effect
I can't really describe it I'm sorry

Thank you

As above, go see an optician/ophthalmologist ASAP. It might be nothing but, as I have eye trouble myself, you should take it seriously: Most things can be fixed but not if you ignore them for too long.

My ophthalmologist gave me his personal number to call if I get flashing vision for fear of a detached retina.

Ok Thank you
I'll get in touch with my optician

Optician first thing in the morning. It could be nothing and it could be what other posters here have said but for peace of mind if nothing else don't dawdle. No work or job is more important then your sight.

Fudge that I would be getting down to A and E right now. With eyes prompt treatment is critical. Virtually any doctor with an opthalmascope will be able to see if there is a material problem in the eye.
Really my eyes are fine currently and vision is normal
Just comes on all of a sudden
A few have said it could be a migraine apparently they don't always lead to a headache
An interesting fact in which I didn't know

I wonder if you are describing a 'floater' which are perfectly normal. Dont ask me what they are or why they happen all I know is they are freaky. Im not a real fan of eyes.

Floaters are something I know all about! Mine are usually either blood that’s leaked into the jelly in the eye or little bits of retina damaged by dodgy vessels or zapped ones. They will usually follow your vision as you move the eye with a bit of a swishy delay. Can be dots, lines or mine are usually like cobwebs that creep around and are very off putting as they move quite a bit. Your brain will usually ‘delete’ them from your vision so they aren’t so off putting........and then they move!

Definitely the above, eyes are an early indication that something "might" be up. Don't leave it, best get it checked.

Sounds like a detached retina or a tear in it. I have had a detached retina and sorry to say I lost my eye. Get to the opticians or as said A and E as soon as you can. Good luck.

Well.....
