I agree, in any 2 sided matter the side supporting change always finds it easier to make their case. just look at Veganism - they have a head start as they are against the status quo. Much easier to fight for a change for the normal. just look at electric cars? Only today Bojo is backing the Green move - how are we going to generate all this electricity we will require? And what happens when electrically powered planes arrive? Best we discover how to catch and store lightning I reckon!!

Personally I wouldn't take any notice of our PM s**t for brains Ardern , given the fact that primary industry like Agriculture and Horticulture have saved NZ realistically without any useful assistance from the current bunch of strokers in government speaks volumes, between the damage infected with the current government's racist agenda and their policy on the state approved theft from Regional Council with the 3 Waters policy as advocated be Ardern, little and Mahuta, they can proverbially go f**k themselves!!!!
While that may seem harsh, that's the reality of their incompetenceand is no exaggeration or poetic licence.

Saw a programme on tv a couple of months ago with electric rally cars and apart from they were quicker and quieter it didn’t seem a lot different to my,admittedly layman’s eye.

I am going to assume you haven’t ever stood in a forest at night and listened to a BDA engine or other twin can high revving engines coming in your direction! It’s a sound you’ll never forget and not what any hybrid or electric rally car can make. A bit like the old V10/12 F1 engines - roaring around Silverstone with sequential paddle shift boxes and all popping and banging. Magical sounds

Well you know what they say about assumptions.
I have actually stood in a forest at night for a rally.I used to do recovery for our local motor club at club rallies. I also used to go to the British Grand Prix back in the 70’s and 80’s. Even with ear muffs the scream of the engines was something you don’t forget. But times change. On ordinary roads lorries and motorcycles used to make enough noise to loosen your fillings but as I said,times change and we live in a different world now. Not necessarily better but to survive we must adapt.

Sure we have to adapt life moves on but I feel sorry for those that haven’t experienced what you and I have back in the day. You could here a BDA from a long way away. Also remember hearing Graham Elsore in a lashed together HS Chevette after a roll hammering through the Forest of Dean on an RAC - his back yard so to speak and he was the only one of the top cars on full or almost full throttle for miles Man on a mission!!

At the risk of digressing too much. I once went to an event where a Porsche 917 was doing demonstration laps. That was not strangely quiet. It was probably one of the most unforgettable engine sounds I’ve ever heard.

The Swiss were happy to go along with it in part until the EU started to throw their weight around & they then called a halt, unfortunately for the EU the Swiss are bang in the way for much of their transport so can't make up their mind what to do about it!

The Swiss have never been part of the EU and I believe their constitution forbids it.
They have a close working relationship and have happily been allowing free access which has until recently suited them. The Swiss don’t do low paid jobs , which the Italians were filling for generations.
However the Italians have been giving a huge number of passports to sub Saharan Africans as they know it is the quickest way to move them north. The Swiss are getting a bit fed up with these people as it has introduced a lot of crime, another thing the Swiss dont do certainly not mugging, picking pockets etc.
I think it will eventually shut its borders to these and the EU will jump up and down , but little they can do as the Swiss could cause huge disruption to the freight traffic through the country of little benefit to Switzerland

AS someone lucky enough to have a property in Switz I can tell you the majority of the Swiss people see the EU as a necessary evil to be kept strictly at arms length & do everything they can to restrict Switzerland just for the Swiss, for instance it is almost impossible for anybody to buy a residential property in Switzerland unless you are actually Swiss or are lucky enough to be granted a Swiss residency permit which can take an awful long time to achieve.

Comment on French radio about the UK/France fishing dispute,
