Have a strautmann single tub mixer which from new has had a loud low pitch whining sound from the two speed gearbox, is this normal?

Is there anything you can do to reduce the noise?

Thanks

Known Problem with these Gearboxes the Teeth inside are not curved and are making noise when sped up.
Cant do anything about it.
Some are very loud and some are considerably quiter.
I guess they are having high tolerance ranges with these gearboxes, they are just pretty cheap but my BvL Guy told me that they usually last despite that, its just a little annoying.

You can fit another gearbox to it the HD version but if you arent doing compact Feeding I wouldnt bother.
BvL are also selling a 2 Speed Powershift but thats quite expensive ...

I have the same stautmann tub. It was the same when I first got it. Spoke to the dealer and he said it's normal, so I changed the oil in the gearbox and the noise level dropped considerably. The lower the revs the noisier it seemed.

I think ours was airlocked/cavitating from the factory. It only was noisy at certain revs and pumping new oil, ep90 I think, cured the problem after the first service. It has not made the noise since, - 3 years later.

I have changed the oils annually since new with 80/90 but no different, should I try a different oil?
Some wagons use a different oil and it’s not cheap ( in the region of a couple hundred pounds for a 25 litre drum) must contain gold🙈
