Straw bedding machine

I’m looking for a bedding down machine can anyone recommend one the sheds are 55 foot wide so needs to be capable of throwing it that far

I have a Teagle 550 straw chopper/blower for sale - fits 5' and 4' rounds as well as mini Heaton's. It'll throw 40' top and bottom spout on 1000rpm. In very good order. PM me if you want further info.

I wouldn't touch a chopper blower & all the dust that goes with it.

We have a spread a bale, it spreads it thicker but the bed lasts longer

I've liked the teagle and think it does the job it's designed for well - easy with little fuss. I'm simply moving onto a cubicle/slats system going forward.
Dust is relative to the straw quality but I will acknowledge dusty straw is a hazard.

We have an Altec.
Mounted on an old weeks trailer axle.
Needs no great lift capacity or power requirements. Just oil flow and leccy

Same here. Will blow straw 50/60ft without problems as long as the wind is fairly calm.

You can vary the amout of blades and hooks on the rotors. Less blades = less chop. Ours doesn' chop very short, maybe 6 to 8 inches?

Go with Lucas raptor then - no blades, cheaper to buy, Lucas quality, will still throw it 50-60'.
But won' do silage.

Ours does clamp silage. In a different gear. Round bales have to be broken up a bit.

We're using not-so-good hay type stuff to replace straw through it in loose housing.

Yes my cousin has put wagon silage through his.

They (should!) all throw/blow straw 50-60ft no problem.

If it is just a straw blower you need, any of the makes will do the job - just make sure you get a swivel chute! Makes the job much easier. IMO you don't need to chop straw much to bed it, there's very little advantage.
