Straw buildings, as in buildings for storing straw not buildings...

Afternoon,

looking for a rough cost for a building to hold 240 Heston bales (a purpose built/ high roof straw shed). At the moment only gathering prices so perhaps someone has built a straw shed recently could tell me roughly what they think the building itself cost and the rough dimensions?

Appreciate any help at all.

Around £900 for this.

260 bales. This is second year. Some waste at bottom, going to dig a moat round next one.

24m x 18m x 9m (eaves) erected was £28.5k including foundations.

That’s with roof and guttering but no sides other than the gable ends and no flooring.

That would hold about 700 if rammed full apparently although I’ve not worked it out if that feasible or not.

Thank you that's very helpful. I am looking at alternative robust poly tunnel type (for want of a better description) designs that seem very good and are designed specifically for straw -surprised at the effect the 'ark' has one decreasing capacity though.

Climbing on top of bales is a no-no for the covers as is throwing away the plastic afterwards.
