Thinking per acre
Winter barley 60
Wheat 50
Yorkshire. This is loose in the swath sold. Is that a fair price?
Very few other inputs swing so much. Quite common to double/half in price year to year. Not unreasonable to take a position early on a chunk. It's bad enough with this acres malarkey where the quantity is dependent on the weather/combine driver/mood of manager.Do livestock farmers think of anything else than the straw price? surely it must have a minor impact on their income compared to other variables?
or is it that they just cant abide arable farmers.
