I deal with a farmer on here not selling straw mind, though I have sold straw on here in the past with no problems.
This chap buys animal feed off me, I've never met him as the food stuff is delivered by a lorry which I organised. Mostly done on trust and I have to say he is a pleasure to deal with. Wish I could name him but I don't want anyone else stealing my thunder! (y)

I've just re-homed some round osr bales that have experienced the winter. Astonishingly, the bottoms are hardly leaving a damp mark on the trailer. As only a token required, makes more sense than the over urgency/over price of harvest acquisition. It'll enable me to stay at home and get grass nicely established.

Good service is worth speaking up about! Give the person some credit publicly! :)

rape straw is our preferred bedding for straw yards, use 1/2 as much, and the cattle are twice as clean, as opposed to using wheat or barley straw. Getting it, is the problem.
So how do you value, in monetary terms, rape straw against wheat or barley? Would you price it at the same given that you only use half the amount? I always thought it was discounted against the price of cereal straw
Either way, it’s surely going to be wanted this year

Harvest 2020 ex farm wheat £70/t, barley £90/t, osr £50/t.
