Strenghten existing rsj

Hello all, I was hoping to run a 30x25 clear span open lean to off an existing shed, trouble is the existing rsj for one front open corner would be only 6x3, what would be the best / easiest way to strengthen this rsj as its not supported by a wall. Tia F1

Hopefully I'm understanding the post (no pun intended!). Your existing column is too small and you'll be bolting the lean to section to the flange rather than the web? We were called in to strengthen some undersized columns a few years back and this consisted of bolting flats to the outside flange of the existing column and welding in additional stiffeners locally at the connection point.

Its a continuation of an open lean to that is over a slatted tank. The spans are currently 16 ft hence only using 6x3. There is circa. 28ft of space beside lean to that I want to add on to for use as a general purpose shed, I didnt want an rsj in middle so was hoping to clear span it so 28 ft cross-beam would be bolted into web of 6x3. Rsj bolted into web to take weight of cross-beam and strenghen 6x3 probably the way to go.
