Stretch fastrac demount sprayer,

Does anyone still do these, or have they gone towards the demount with front tank? I have been contract spraying with sp sprayers for 30 years and the constant nodding dog action is taking its toll on my back. Although the fastrac isn't an ideal machine for contract spraying they seem comfortable and with half my time spent on the road could be advantageous , but don't like the idea of a front tank way out in front with lots of junctions to draw out of with poor vision but need a 4000 litre tank. Any comments welcome.

Theres some pictures on face ache doing the rounds of a new 4220 fastrac with the cab over the front of the bonnet creating a rear carrying platform. It looks a bit like a Xerion. Its not like the forwards control version and looks like the cab can twist around. You'd think it could carry a pretty big tank so maybe 6000 litres or even more!

If we were working the big fields of Lincs , a trailed with a goose neck draw bar would be good but I have fields as small as two acres to work in and can often spray 40 fields in a day. All that backing in corners with a trailed in a wet time could get tedious .

It’s for snow ploughing I think, for better visibility. There’s no load platform.

You'll buy a self propelled for the same money so can't see the point personally. When I had demo machine with landquip demount front/back tanks I was advised would be 200k to insure it. Never did get a quote for it.

Only plus I can see is if dragging about a big bowser. No wheel motors and CVT transmission. Agrii, have forward control ones up here, nobody wanted to drive it, plus reliability issues was last I heard about it. Prefer batemans and agrifacs.

@croppers one in picture above is a beauty  . Id drive it for nothing.

Not really driven anything other than Househam air ride for the last 15 years and although they are smoother than a tractor, on the road you get the cab nodding as you are sat in front of the front wheels, just thought a mid mounted cab might have less movement. Might be cheaper to get my back sorted.

I like the look of the Bateman but never driven one. I enquired about one years ago before my first househam and was told there was a two year waiting list, so I went no further. Had eight househam since .

Why not try a John Deere self propelled, mid mounted cab and an off the shelf sprayer. I run two JCB demounts, one of which is stretched but they are both cursed by JCB niggles. The BIG advantage is they are cheap and in 20 minutes they can be doing other jobs.
