Looking to spend "not a lot" to clear grass where sheep 3 line system is in place. Any suggestions for something RELIABLE and not too expensive? Presumably it needs a metal cutting "disc" rather than the nylon line... TIA

Why not replaceable nylon blades instead of line
I've tried a few things like that and different types of blade but keep coming back to this one

How many horsepower is your strimmer for that

Single wire electric fence here I have been hedge trimming for the last few hours, was wondering would the hedge trimming attachment on end of strimmer make my job easier. Fence not trimmed since last September as it's a silage field

Cordless one will work it fine that why j posted it ,it doesn't need so much power as some others I've used.

Depends what you're intending to cut .

Strimming down tight takes a long time and is a pita for any length.
Walking alone nipping off the tops is more doable in the field .

High power fence will burn it off under high joule and it won't be a prob.

cordless one on its mid power setting can nip off the tops at walking speed not hard work bit of care around the posts ,
no fumes, big noise or fiddling with a pull starter.

but if no cordless gear im sure that blade would be fine with a modest sized petrol one as mentioned above .
it will cut docks and nettles and tips of brambles as well which string wont , no fiddling with that either when you just want to get on...just put a file over him ever now and then

is it not quicker / easier to.move fence...mow and put back?
that's what I have done with temporary fencing in a rushy field, but with my semi permanent fencing (also going across a rushy field), I cut most of the rushes with a metal blade on a strimmer (Stihl FS80 I think), then put a nylon line head on to doing the bits next to the poly posts.

These are great, whack anything down at tick over and don't get bogged down in long heavy stuff like the 3 or 4 teeth ones. Not so fond of stones but should be ideal for your job
