I think one of the reasons we give our herdspersons a house on the farm is so it is easy for them to get to the parlour on time for morning milking, at four in the morning no-one wants to have to get in their car to drive to work
And going out to check cow's before bedtime and any cow's needing help calving during the night
I certainly couldn't do my job if I didn't live on site

I am dying to know about this kid's background now.

I think he may have gone to school but not convinced by uni. He's a dab hand on the keyboard though, pretty clueless about business which can't be read on the internet or watched on utube.

Do you live or have relations in Scotland who are also on TFF?

Two degrees , a 2;1 and a merit , successful business experience and no Scotish relations:p

Actually feeling sorry for you, I only hope you don't act how your online presence perceives you.

If I worked in a sector, came on to arguably one of the biggest forums dedicated to it and got so ridiculed at every corner, I would take a look in the mirror and re calibrate.

I would love to hear from you in 10 yrs to see how your life plan is going.

I think housing is an issue especially if your farm is quite a distance from a town with cheaper houses, where are low paid staff going to live?
Almost all farms here provide accommodation.
Also many farms have only a few employees, many only one. How many other jobs have the business owner working alongside the lowest level employee?
It makes for an interesting relationship I think as both have very different perspectives on life and the job. Many people like to work with people at there own level as there's less feeling of being watched and lets face it more chance to have a moan about things

You may be surprised how many agree with me and Ive had quite a few PMs saying they agree with a lot in my posts but for what ever reason wont say so on the forum.
