Sub soiler knock on points

Are they like the McCormic ones? Hammer old ones off, hammer new ones on, make sure you don’t go backwards with points in the ground else they will remain there...

If changing McConnell points, don't use a regular sledge hammer and wear eye protection. They need a soft headed steel hammer to minimise the risk of points breaking or shards splintering off them when hit.

The bourgault ones have a retaining pin. They aren't very good in my experience. Normally fall off. Maybe it's just our stones.
Have you changed the little nipples , that push the pin out

I've bought some. They get worn when driver doesn't notice point gone.

Definitley wear eye/face protection and hat! I have had a shard off those knock on points bury itself in my scalp. (I am follically challanged so no protection from my barnet. We have a Weaving Subdisc with the same legs and am in the process of changing them to slip on legs/points from Agrilinc.
Are you getting the points with a roll pin in back of them , they are like night and day

I got some legs cut to take shakerator points with roll pin ,
This is a basic JSA 2 leg mole/Subsoiler to try and repair some ruts caused by trailer jockey carting the hay.
Instead of parking on a firm area and letting tele handler come to him he insisted on driving into the wet area with a full load with the result there are some deep ruts.
Contractor came back and rolled them out the best he could but not to my satisfaction.

If they are not a good fit due to losing a point and not realising and wearing the leg down a bit we had a few bodges that worked a treat.
Wrap a few layers of duck tape or similar around the "foot" of the "leg" and beat the point on.
If they are really worn a load of thin washers, or even a few copper coins does the job.
Our old subdisc didn't go anywhere without duck tape and assorted soft metal bits to hold points on.

If loose, I just get the MIG out weld new lumps on either side the grind back down until the point is a tight fit.
I also use tin shims, work well.

Definitely shouldn't fall off. If they are then something is not right.

I just use any lump hammer lying around or a rock if necessary
